• Insurance Companies :  Many homes are insured against water damage, and insurance coverage may be used to cover the restoration and repair of the home. In the event of a Water Damage insurance claim, a Professional Certified Water Damage Restoration company must treat the carpeting and flooring within a short period of time after the incident occurs, or the insurance may have the right to refuse covering damages. Typically, the earlier a company can come out to start the Restoration treatment the better. A Water Damage should not be left untreated for more that 1-2 days - health hazardous conditions may occur if left untreated. Some tips and suggestions in the event of a Water Damage:

• Remove all furniture away from the affected areas
• Unplug any extension chords, electronic devices that are running on the wet carpeting/flooring, wet walls
• Ventilate area if possible
• Do not remove carpeting or padding in attempt to dry them yourself! This may cause unnecessary irreparable damage to the carpet.
